Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
New York Governor Anderew Cuomo has resigned following dozens of allegations of sexual harrasment and assault.

After years of longstanding allegations of sexual impropriety being reported to police, lawmakers, and gubernatorial staff, NY state Attorney General Leticia James announced Thursday that several independent investigators found that the numerous sexual harassment allegations made against Cuomo were true.

The probe which took place over 6 months summarized its evidence against the ex-Governor in a 168 page briefing. The report confirmed that Cuomo harassed at least 11 women, along with inappropriate interactions clearly demonstrated around a slew of others.

The investigation was conducted after, on March 1, 2021, when the Executive Chamber made a referral for James to select independent lawyers to investigate “allegations of and circumstances surrounding sexual harassment claims made against the governor.”
According to a recent NYAG office press release several high profile attorneys from the law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP were deputized in order to carryout the investigation.

Cuomo admitted to giving women “hugs and kisses” as well as making inappropriate jokes around them.
“I take full responsibility for my actions. I have been too familiar with people. My sense of humor can be insensitive and off-putting.” Cuomo timidly uttered during his presumed final press conference.
Cuomo who is a well known “trust white women” advocate, called the investigation “biased”.
“In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn,” Cuomo finished.
The matters are further complicated by the fact that Cuomo regularly tweets that all rouge allegations made against men must be believed.

In fact, Cuomo tweeted as recently as 2018 that allegations of sexual harassment made against his political opponent and fellow white supremacist Bret Kavanaugh were “disturbing”. Cuomo also insisted that all political proceedings be stopped until “all allegations are fully investigated.”
Cuomo is also on record stating that there should be a “zero tolerance” policy for those accused of sexual misconduct.
Well, Mr. Cuomo finally got his wish.
