Premier NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson has officially been cleared of 22 counts of sexual misconduct by a grand jury sources confirmed.
Watson who is the former starter for the Houston Texans had been sidelined for the 2021 season thanks to the pending investigation by Houston authorities into alleged sexual misconduct between Watson and the plaintiffs, many of which whom worked for massage spas in the Houston metropolitan area.
Announcements came Tuesday, as a Texas grand jury announced that Watson had been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
Watson’s legal troubles aren’t over yet, sources close to his attorney, Rusty Hardin allude to ongoing civil action against the NFL star, with the idea that the Watson camp may have to engage in further arbitration to hammer out settlements with his accusers.
News of Watson’s vindication have shaken up the NFL’s 2022 draft prospects, with teams that were previously positioned to take a QB in earlier rounds now having to contend with a healthy Watson who has recently been picked up by the Cleveland Browns.
Watson who holds the record for the NFL’s highest career completion rate (67.8%), holds the Texans franchise record for most touchdowns in a season (33) and is the first player in NFL history to pass for 400+ yards, throw 4+ TD passes, and rush for 50+ yards in a single game.
