How to Celebrate Dr. John Henrik Clarke Day 2024

2024's Dr. John Henrik Clarke Day has been highly anticipated and is kicking off with a bang!

“Just a diaper pin. Every mother needs it, and it’s simple but important. Start there.”

The global African diaspora is celebrating one of its greatest days for the new year. 2024’s Dr. John Henrik Clarke Day has been highly anticipated and is kicking off with a bang.

Dr. Clarke was a former head of the Black diaspora who understood what the African world’s greatest mission was; Complete control of the means of production.

2023 was a spectacular start to that goal.

Last year several African nations began formally driving out colonial forces from the motherland and successfully seized the colonizer’s abandoned infrastructure. Nations like Burkina Faso are now in the driver seat of their futures, with a new generation of youthful leaders like Captain Ibrahim Traore, the world as watched as nearly half of Faso’s impoverished population has been put back to work. Traore’s administration as also considered the idea of nationalizing the nation’s mineral resources to assure the creation of a social safety net for his citizenry.

Meanwhile in the United States, Black Americans are feverishly pursuing the unfinished business of their family’s reparations claim. Black Americans have pushed not only for cash payouts for those classified as Freedmen (or descendants of Africans enslaved in the US who won their freedom after a war with the American white supremacist), but to also emphasize the need for allocation of eminent domain exempt land to Black Americans as well as floating the idea of lifetime tax exemptions and free healthcare dedicated exclusively to them.

Black Brits have finally begun our quiet chant for our own reparations claim against crown that has for generations stolen our wealth, inventions, and intellectual properties. Anti-Black racist like Prime Minister Sunak are on the run and being put on notice by the revolutionary rabble rousers.

But 2024 will no doubt be our biggest challenge yet. Black empowerment in 2024 can only be shown in two ways. Through our commerce with each other and most importantly what we produce and distribute.

If Black people are not selling a product or service that they exclusively own (or at the very least stand make a lion-share of profit from) to another person then we’re not empowering ourselves.

We honor the former heads of state by controlling our lives, and controlling our lives means controlling who eats, who’s clothed, and who’s housed. Black nation’s worldwide but most importantly African nations in specific must strive to control existing avenues of manufacturing and seek out new logistical alternatives to solving the poverty crisis among the diaspora. Or risk falling into the same despair and depravity exemplified if not outright demonstrated by the final death throes of the barbaric European nations.
